🌿 Weekly Work & Learn Community Week at Almarte

14–20 September 2026 • Dominican Republic

Join us for a heartfelt week of community, tropical farm life, learning, nature, and meaningful contribution on the Almarte Cacao Farm next to Los Haitises National Park in the Dominican Republic.

This week is an invitation for people who feel called to reconnect with nature, slow down from modern life, and experience a more grounded and authentic way of living together. We are opening our land and community for a small group of people who want to learn, contribute, share, and co-create together in a simple and human atmosphere.

During the week, we will work together on different regenerative projects around the farm — supporting cacao and food-forest areas, improving community spaces, helping with planting, harvesting cacao and tropical fruits, nursery work, land maintenance, and the ongoing development of the Almarte project. Some days may include physical work, other days more learning, sharing, cooking together, or simply connecting with the rhythm of the land.

But this week is about much more than work.

It is about waking up surrounded by tropical jungle, sharing fire-cooked cacao in the morning, eating together, sitting around the fire in the evening, having meaningful conversations, laughing, learning from each other, and experiencing what community can feel like when people come together with openness and intention.

You do not need previous experience. Some participants may have backgrounds in permaculture, natural building, farming, or community projects — others may simply come with curiosity, presence, and the wish to contribute. Both are welcome.

We especially welcome people who resonate with:

  • regenerative living
  • conscious community
  • cacao culture
  • simplicity
  • nature connection
  • meaningful human exchange

Accommodation during the week is simple and close to nature. You are warmly invited to bring your own tent and camp directly on the land with the community. Sleeping surrounded by jungle sounds, stars, cacao trees, and tropical nature is part of the experience itself. Simple local accommodation in the nearby village can also be arranged for those who prefer more comfort.

Please understand that this is not a luxury retreat. Mud, rain, insects, simple infrastructure, and tropical conditions are all part of real farm and community life here. We believe there is beauty in this simplicity and authenticity.

Participation is contribution-based and helps support food, infrastructure, and the ongoing regeneration of the land and project.

We intentionally keep the group small and personal to create a warm, intimate, and genuine atmosphere where real connection can happen.

If you feel called to spend a week closer to nature, cacao, community, and meaningful contribution, we would love to welcome you to Almarte.
